The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) launched optimism to revisit the Ministry of Transportation and Communications headed by Minister Paisalin Tago, along with Deputy Minister Muhammad Ameen Abbas and Director General Roslaine M. Maniri, to discuss the upcoming development initiatives and roadmap on complex infrastructure projects on ports and sea ports in the BARMM.
The UNOPS aimed to enhance cooperation to strengthen partnerships by providing technical assistance and capacity assessments for the various infrastructure projects MOTC will undertake on ports and airports.
UNOPS is a UN organization dedicated to helping people build better lives and countries achieve sustainable development by assisting the government and its allies in providing infrastructure, procurement, and project management.
Philippine Country Manager Oscar Marenco stressed the importance of the details of planning and preparation to underscore the distinctive features and elements of mutual commitment, engagement, and the recommendation for possible future implementation of the plan to establish an International Airport in Sultan Mastura Municipality and the completion of phases of development of the Timaco Port. Also discussed was the Polloc in relation to the maritime corregidor as well as Lamitan, Bongao, and Jolo airports for a feasibility study of developing air routes and establishing airfields.

Catherine Gonzales, UNOPS Legal Advisor. The team yielded a substantial discussion over matters they could engage in future development endeavors.
