MOTC signifies commitment to enhancing air transportation services in BARMM

Enriching BARMM’s Future: Catalyzing Growth and Development through Enhanced Air Transportation Services was the theme of the first-ever BARMM Air Transportation Services Summit held jointly by the Civil Aeronautics Board of the Bangsamoro (CABB) and the Bangsamoro Airport Authority (BAA) of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) held at the Kutawato Hall, Em Manor Hotel and Convention Center, Cotabato City, October 10, 2023.

This inaugural summit aimed to pool participants ranging from government dignitaries to industry stakeholders, cargo forwarders, ticket sales agents, local communities and other relevant agencies such as the CAAP, DOTr, and OTS by providing a platform, an avenue for productive engagement and dialogue towards development and prosperity of air services in BARMM said Director I, Atty. Hanamir Emblawa, CPA.

In his opening message, Minister and Deputy Speaker Paisalin P. Tago underlined the plans and programs that would boost the air routes in the pursuit of improving air administration and operation as he aimed to embark on immense infrastructure development of the airports to facilitate easy connectivity to enable a safer movement, more efficient and reliable transportation system in the region so that the economy will grow.

The event was graced by Senior Minister Abunawas L. Maslamama on behalf of the Interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim of the Bangsamoro Government, Members of the Parliament in attendance, Honorable Mayor Bruce Matabalao, Corporate Secretary VI, CAAP, Atty. Mark Nester Mendoza, Atty. Arwin Cabanting-Atty. IV, CAB-Ph, airlines representative, Transport Security Group, TOG 12, MOTC Deputy Minister Muhammad Ameen Abbas, and the MOTC family.
