To develop a better work environment for every employee and create a motivating and high performing organizational culture, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications(MOTC)of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) held a five-day ministry-wide team-building which started on November 12.

Employees(who were vaccinated and underwent RT PCR test with negative results) of the seven(7) Sectoral Offices under MOTC, including those assigned in island provinces, and different divisions of the regional office participated in the said team-building.

MOTC-BARMM Minister Dickson Penas Hermoso said that he was overwhelmed by the sincere efforts to belong, citing for instance how far employees had to travel to participate in the activity.

Minister Hermoso also fully subscribed to the team-building motto “Together, We are Better!”
On her part, Director–General Lawyer Roslaine Macao-Maniri remarked she was gratified by the successful outcome of the team building because she herself was an active participant and she felt how empowering it was when the potentials of everyone were being unleashed.

The mentioned activity was facilitated by Mr. Alwyne Jan “AJ” Perez, a much sought motivational speaker and communication expert.

In the concluding part of the team building, Perez confided he was very much impressed by the resourcefulness, healthy exchange of ideas, and teamwork shown by the MOTC family and he was sure that the foundations of a distinctive organizational culture had been more than adequately laid.

Challenging games, learning exercises, and socialization fostered cooperation, interaction, collaboration, and camaraderie among the participants. No distinction was made as to rank and gender.

Prior to the team-building, he conducted a survey to assess the levels of trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and attention to results in the Ministry. This assessment enabled him to customize the activity design.
