MOTC joins PDEA's 'OPLAN HARABAS'


The Bangsamoro Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board(BLTFRB)-BARMM and Bangsamoro Land Transportation Office (BLTO)- BARMM of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) take part in the nationwide implementation of ‘OPLAN HARABAS’ initiated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on April 8, 2022, in Cotabato City.

This oplan aims to conduct surprise mandatory drug testing on Public Utility Vehicle(PUV) Bus and Van Drivers in four key terminals operating within the city, and this is in line with the mandate of the BLTFRB-BARMM, which is to provide fast, efficient, reliable, and safe travel to the commuting public, and to ensure its execution, its personnel joins the PDEA-BARMM along with other agencies in this mission.

Meanwhile, drivers who test positive will have their diver's license confiscated by the BLTO-BARMM, which has the mandate to issue and suspend driver's licenses, given the pending issuance of clearance by the PDEA-BARMM.
The intensified participation of the Land Transportation Sector of the MOTC in this oplan is anchored to the agenda of Minister Dickson P. Hermoso, which includes, among others, ensuring that the Bangsamoro Region’s riding public troops are safe and secured and sustaining dynamic engagement with different enforcement agencies.
