MOTC celebrates groundbreaking of various infrastructure projects

To celebrate the upcoming construction, MOTC is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for four (4) major Infrastructure Development Projects of the MOTC. These various infra are the Rehabilitation and Repair of the MOTC Regional Office Building, the Construction of the VIP Lounge at Awang Airport, the Construction of the VIP Lounge at Sanga-Sanga Airport, and the Expansion of the Sanga-Sanga Staff House Building with the presence of MP Sponsors, Members of Parliament in attendance, Officials and employees of the ministry, guests, and media personalities on December 18, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the MOTC Compound, Cotabato City.

The new office building will occupy one portion of the lot adjacent to the MOTC office building. It will be a two-story building with a total area of 644 square meters and shall be done in 365 days.

Upon completion, this facility can accommodate the ever-growing workforce, give the ministry an identity and an opportunity to create a new work culture, and contribute to economic stability. The project has an approved budget of twenty million pesos, Php 20,000,000.00, charged to the General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (GAAB).

Meanwhile, the Expansion of the Staff House building in a 226 sq. m floor area will be erected adjacent to the existing staff house in Sanga-Sanga airport. The two-story building has eight (living rooms and was allocated with a 10 million budget targeted in 300 calendar days.

The Construction of the VIP Lounge at Awang Airport shall be erected in a 94.05 sq.m area adjacent to the Passenger Terminal Building designed to hold 50 persons charged to the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of MP Baintan Ampatuan for 5 Million pesos.

The Construction of the VIP Lounge at Sanga-Sanga Airport, a single-story in a 115.2 sq. m area adjacent to the PTB Building in the airport, charged to the TDIF of MP Amilbahar Mawallil and to be constructed in 180 days.

Moreover, 36 units of 120-watt solar street lights in the airside and landside areas of Jolo Airport and Sanga-Sanga with 45 units, all with concrete pedestals and conical steel poles, to be installed in 90 days, have an approved budget of 2.5 million pesos and 3 million under the TDIF of MP Jose I. Lorena.

Minister Tago leads the inauguration and groundbreaking of infra projects of MOTC- BARMM along with several other Members of the Parliament in attendance, MOTC officials, and employees.
