MOTC celebrates BARMM’s 3rd Foundation Anniversary, wraps up simultaneous Coastel Clean-up Drive
The Ministry of Transportation and Communications-BARMM held a simultaneous clean-up drive along the coastlines of Maguindanao and BASULTA, today, Jan 21, 2022. This is one of the many highlights of the week-long celebration of the 3rd Foundation Anniversary of the Bangsamoro Region.
As early as seven o’clock in the morning, volunteers composed of MOTC’s officials and personnel along with its seven sectors CABB, BAA, BPMA, BMARINA, BLTO, BLTFRB, and BTC, representatives from different agencies, ministries, and organizations moved quickly to the clean-up sites and picked up trash along the shorelines, and were able to collect wastes and trashes from nearby surroundings.
The Bangsamoro Maritime Industry Authority, one of the sectoral offices under the said ministry, spearheaded the conduct of the said activity. The event was conducted with a limited number of volunteers who observed physical distancing adhered to safety protocols due to the rising cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Also present during the clean-up drive were the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy-BARMM, Philippine Coast Guard, and Barangay Officials of the area.
For the whole week, each of the ministries of the BARMM has prepared activities to join the celebration. The clean-up drive was one of the MOTC’S ways of celebrating the region’s anniversary. The success of this activity is the result of the collective effort of all the volunteers. Indeed, the MOTC put to life this year’s theme: ” Changing People’s Lives, Transforming the Bangsamoro: Celebrating and Sustaining the gains of Peace and Moral Governance.
