MOTC, Astrophysics Inc. sign deal on BARMM-port's security equipment


Realizing its long-standing vision of a fast, efficient, reliable, and safe transport system, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications- BARMM and joint venture, Astrophysics, Inc. and Astrophysics Asia, Inc. enter into a contract for the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of a brand- new baggage x-ray machines, walkthrough metal detectors with brand new generator sets on May 12, 2022.

The ministry is represented by Minister Dickson P. Hermoso, while Atty. Tarreq Yahyaq Timhar Radjaie represents the joint venture at the signing of the Contract of Agreement, which has a project cost of Sixteen Million Seven Hundred Thirteen Thousand Four Hundred Twelve Pesos & 71/100 Pesos, or 16,713,412.71.

This project is part of the Special Development Fund (SDF) 2020, which aims to create a favorable enabling environment for inclusive and sustainable economic development, ensure access to and delivery of high-quality services for human capital development, and harness technology and innovation to improve socio-economic opportunities and government services.

Once completed, this ministry's milestone can improve the overall security in BARMM's port since these projects will be implemented under the Bangsamoro Port Management Authority as a proactive approach to reduce the risk from the threat posed by unlawful acts toward safer mobility of people and goods that will spur many development opportunities for the people of Bangsamoro.
