The said visit aims to inspect the various BPMA’s managed ports in Bongao, Sibutu & Sitangkai, BAA’s newly turned over landside of Sanga-Sanga Airport in Tawi-Tawi and to meet various local officials for coordination.
Minister Tago intends to pursue efforts in improving port infrastructure and operations, as well as to meet the province’s growing demand for freight and passengers.
During the inspection, Minister Tago briefed and gave instructions to various provincial staff of MOTC in an attempt to improve the air and sea ports’ current standing.
It is worth noting that these gateways are among the busiest sectors in the Bangsamoro region and are critical to local economic development. These ports serve as a primary gateway for the province’s agricultural exports, connecting to inland markets in the other Island Provinces and the Mainland. (Jayson V. Solayman/ICD)
