MARINA to extend Automation System to BMARINA
In a move to further enhance and intensify efforts toward efficient and effective delivery of maritime service, the Bangsamoro Maritime Industry Authority (BMARINA) of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications-BARMM holds a coordination meeting on April 26, 2022 at Metro Manila, Philippines with its National Counterpart, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), to discuss the automation system to be extended to the latter.
Minister Dickson P. Hermoso tasks BMARINA Regional Head/Chief MIDS Alonto A. Sahiron, Supervising MIDS Ahmsia S. Edris, Administrative Officer V Mohajiren Diang, Shipping Operations Specialists Engr. Moeser M. Sailila and Khalid H. Dapilinto to attend the meeting with MARINA executives. Likewise, these BMARINA employees are in charge on the office’s registration, licensing, regulation, and law enforcement services.
Following is the complete coverage discussed during the said meeting: the identification of the applicable system to be extended by MARINA National to BMARINA per RA 11054, formulation and recommendation of proposed plans and programs to ensure that what has been stated in the MOA between DOTr-MOTC- MARINA-BMARINA will meet their terms, and processes to assist the office to become an IT-enabled agency.
BMARINA expresses overwhelming gratitude to its counterpart for their technical assistance to improve the absorptive capacity of the office, especially the support to extend its automation system so it can be more confident in performing its powers and functions laid down under the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 13 or the Bangsamoro Administrative Code.
