LTO and BLTO Sign MOA for LTMS Extension

September 19, 2024 – In a significant stride toward enhancing transportation management in the Bangsamoro region, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Bangsamoro Land Transportation Office (BLTO) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the extension of the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS). The ceremony took place at the Bulwagang Romeo F. Edu in the LTO Central Office, highlighting the vital role of collaboration in improving transportation services.

Key figures at the event included Jaime J. Bautista, Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, Assistant Secretary of the LTO. Both leaders emphasized the significance of the agreement in bolstering the efficiency and accessibility of transportation within the region. Their remarks underscored a collective commitment to overcoming local transportation challenges through innovative solutions.

The signing was attended by notable officials from both agencies, including DOTr ASEC Ricardo E. Alfonso, USEC Renier Paul R. Yebra, and LTO Executive Directors Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr. and Atty. Paul Y. Yebra. Representatives from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) were also present, including Atty. Paisalin P. Tago, CPA, Minister of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) in BARMM, along with Deputy Minister Muhammad Ameen Abbas and Director General Atty. Roslaine M. Maniri, BLTO Director I- Engr. Razul D. Gayak, and other MOTC Officials. The presence of these officials underscores the collaborative spirit driving this partnership.

The MOA aims to extend the LTMS to the BLTO, fostering a more cohesive and streamlined approach to managing transportation services across different jurisdictions. By integrating the LTMS, the BLTO will gain access to advanced technological resources, which will enhance the implementation of transportation regulations, licensing procedures, and safety measures.
