In the swarming landscape of aviation, new chances for connectivity and economic growth are constantly in the purview of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOTC – BARMM).
On March 4, 2024, MOTC Minister Atty. Paisalin P. Tago, CPA, through the BAA, led by its OIC-Director I, Atty. Hanamir N. Emblawa, CPA, and CABB, represented by CTRO Ian S. Pinguiaman, CPA, and the MOTC Legal and Legislative Liaison Services, met with Bangsamoro Airways, an airline company aiming to pioneer in connecting people and cultures in Mindanao and Bangsamoro Region.
During the meeting, Bangsamoro Airways showed its readiness to serve the Bangsamoro riding public and its commitment to safety as it adheres to aviation standards and prioritizes passenger comfort and satisfaction by providing exceptional air travel experiences for its clients, assuring their trips are safe, reliable, convenient, and efficient through a dedicated and enthusiastic team of professionals.
Bangsamoro Airways also emphasized that, if given a chance, it will set up its hub in Cotabato (Awang) Airport. It will be the first-ever airline to establish its home in the Bangsamoro Region.
The parties also initially identified opportunities and challenges faced by the Bangsamoro Region and the impact it can have on the region’s economy and tourism. These talks forged future collaborations and cooperation between the BARMM Government and other airline companies, ensuring a coordinated approach to enhance airport operations and air connectivity.
The potential emergence of Bangsamoro Airways and the introduction of direct flights within the Bangsamoro Region symbolizes a new chapter in the development of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao as it opens doors for sustainable economic growth and tourism.
