Aug 27, 2024

Fifty participants attended the Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Track III held from August 19- 24, 2024, at the Seda Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City. This training was the final segment of a comprehensive three-track program developed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to enhance the potential of leaders and emerging supervisors in their managerial and supervisory skills.

The Administrative and Finance Services, headed by Director II Lady Hanifah R. Mindalano Alonto and Chief Administrative Officer Omarsaqaff L. Datumanong, spearheaded the initiative of this program to equip participants with essential competencies for supervision by focusing on fundamental supervisory functions structured to address areas in leadership, team management, conflict resolution, and decision-making.

Through this targeted approach, participants engaged in a well-rounded session that combined theoretical insights with practical applications designed to deepen their understanding and proficiency in these critical areas, preparing them to tackle the challenges of their supervisory roles with great skill and confidence. Interactive methods, such as hands-on workshops, role-playing, and detailed case studies, were integral to the training experience.

Meanwhile, these activities provided opportunities to apply their knowledge in simulated real scenarios, enhancing their ability to manage teams and resolve conflicts effectively. The experiential learning approach ensured each participant could bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation, enabling them to develop actionable strategies for their daily work environments.
In his inspiring speech, CSC Assistant Commissioner Atty. Ariel G. Ronquillo highlighted the crucial values of fairness, impartiality, and integrity in performing one’s duties. He urged the participants to exemplify these qualities to become true leaders. By doing so, they would gain respect and strengthen the integrity of public service.

Moreover, Minister Tago lauded the participants and recognized their commitment to this crucial part of the CSC leadership development program. He also commended the exceptional leadership of AFS Director Alonto and Chief AO Datumanong in executing this initiative to improve individual skills and the ability to tackle challenges and achieve organizational success.

Finally, he encouraged the participants to leverage their new skills confidently and make meaningful contributions to the public sector, reflecting the MOTC’s dedication to fostering effective leadership and improving organizational performance.
