CABB sets up PRAD in BARMM's Airports

Inbound and outbound Air Passengers in the Bangsamoro Region can now proactively file complaints, report concerns, and request assistance from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications-BARMM, through the Civil Aeronautics Board of the Bangsamoro as it sets up Passenger Rights Action Desk (PRAD) in BARMM’s various airports located in the Provinces of Maguindanao, Tawi-Tawi, and Sulu.

This platform is anchored in the 10- Point Priority Agenda of Minister Dickson P. Hermoso, among others, to provide fast, efficient, reliable and safe delivery of government services to the Bangsamoro. Thus, the ministry ensures robust passenger protection and the regulations apply to all flights to, from, and within BARMM.

CABB Regional Head Muhammad M. Galo believes that it is a step in the right direction for these rights must be strictly observed. The Air Passenger Bill of Rights (APBR) cannot be enforced if people do not know their rights and where to seek redress if they are breached.

Meanwhile, airlines must follow the obligations set out in the regulations as soon as they come into force and could be subject to administrative monetary penalties per incident for non-compliance. In the event of an air travel-related dispute that cannot be resolved directly by a passenger and an airline, the passenger can complain to CABB personnel at certain airports in BARMM.
