The Civil Aeronautics Board of the Bangsamoro held a seminar on the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 today, March 21, in line with the celebration of Women’s Month to further enable the role of Bangsamoro women and to commemorate their contributions to the success of the peace process.
Atty. Bai Sandra U. Sandialan, the resource speaker, lectured on the salient points of Republic Act 9262, and she explained the different kinds of abuses, such as physical, sexual, psychological, and financial.She cited various landmark cases on the violations of the said act.
“This seminar reminds me of my rights and responsibilities. It did not only equip me with knowledge and information but also ways to defend and fight for myself should similar situations may happen in the future.” One of the participants said.
