BTC, NTC deliberate update on devolution
Minister Dickson P. Hermoso of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications-BARMM and Commissioner Muhammad Ameen Abbas of the Bangsamoro Telecommunications Commission meet today, March 11, the executives of the National Telecommunications Commissions to deliberate updates regarding the status of the devolution of NTC to BARMM.
Minister Hermoso and Commissioner Abbas share the respective office’s action plan during the meeting. They have presented the ministry’s continuing efforts in partnership with the local government units (LGUs) and private sectors to attain its goals.
The discussion with NTC Deputy Commissioner Edgardo Cabarios and other officials centers on the status of the transfer of powers and functions of the NTC to BARMM. This roundtable yields several insights and recommendations based on the information contained in the Transition Reports. It ensures that the devolution is in accordance with national laws to avoid stirring disputes by any means in the future.
The ministry’s consultants, Sajid S. Druz Ali and Atty. Arnold A. Rosales are also present during the meeting and share professional advice with the body.
