BMARINA-Basilan, Philippine Coast guard, and the Maritime Police joint inspection of compliance of Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Regulations

BMARINA-Basilan Provincial Office headed by Mannan H. Haman & staff, Philippine Coast Guard, and the Maritime Police, joint operation to conduct an inspection of compliance on the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Regulations at the port of Maluso, Basilan.

This ensures the implementation of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), an international maritime safety treaty from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the maritime arm of the United Nations.

It regulates the safety of life at sea, which includes any ocean-going vessels. The IMO, in 2015, issued guidelines regarding the verified weight of all shipped at sea.
