BLTFRB to open Cotabato, Wao route


WAO, Lanao del Sur - The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) through the Bangsamoro Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (BLTFRB), conducted its first ever road drive test in line with the proposed opening of Cotabato-Wao-Marawi City route. 

The 64-seater Double Deck Hanger Bus drove Minister PaisalinTago, Deputy Commissioner, Land Service Director, and Sector Heads from BLTFRB, BAA, CABB, and other MOTC employees. The bus ran through the main road traversing Alamada,  Banisilan , and Wao as its final destination. 
Along with the road drive test are the inspection of Wao terminal and the information dissemination by the BLTFRB regarding its services including, among others, the issuance and renewal of Certificate of Public Convenience. Meanwhile, the BangsamoroAirport Authority (BAA) visited the Wao Airport Strip to assess its possible development. 

The Minister and the BAA executives manifested their plan to conduct a feasibility study of opening a domestic and eventually an international flight in the area. The Bangsamoro Land Transportation Office visited also the newly tranferred LTO WaoExtension office to determine whether the office will continue its operation in the area.

Moreover, Wao Municipal Mayor, Honorable Elvino Balicao, welcomed the party and presented his development agenda, specifically on opening the tourism industry in the area. He identified issues on road infrastructure and airport development that would enable connectivity and safe mobility of people and goods.
 The MOTC is committed in ensuring fast, efficient, reliable, and safe transportation and communications systems in the region.
