The Bangsamoro Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (BLTFRB) achieved a milestone last December 22, 2022. For the first time, the BLTFRB was convened by Minister Paisalin P. Tago, in his capacity as Chairman of the BLTFRB. Joining Minister Tago is Director II for Land Services and Acting Head of the BLTFRB, Datunor G. Abutazil. The representative for the transport sector has yet to be appointed by the Chief Minister.
Under Title XV, Chapter 4, Section 16, of the Bangsamoro Administrative Code, “The Board shall be composed of the Minister of Transportation and Communications as Chairperson, the head of the Executive Office, and a representative from the organized transport sector who shall be appointed by the Chief Minister under co-terminous status.”
For the initial meeting, the Board resolved to officially adopt the Internal Rules of Procedure prepared by the Legal and Legislative Liaison Services of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
Also in attendance during the Board’s meeting are Kaizer N. Nasilin, Chief Transportation Development Officer, Sittie Ashlya B. Pascan, Supervising Transportation Development Officer, who also acted as the Board Secretariat, assisted by lawyers Bai Sandra Sandialan and Hanamir Emblawa of the Legal and Legislative Liaison Services of the MOTC.
