BFP in partnership with BAA, pulls together HAZMAT Orientation

MARCH 16, 2023 | The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines - General Santos together with Bangsamoro Airport Authority held an Airport Emergency Plan to all personnel around the airport premises of Cotabato (Awang) Airport last March 16, 2023, at Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte. This is in reference to the Airport Security and Safety Consultation meeting conducted last February 23-24, 2023 to partners involved.

CSIS Assistant Chief Crisfred I. Butohan from General Santos International Airport discussed further the important details regarding the Emergency Planning need to be exercised when there are any untoward incidents happening during the airside and landside operations. In addition, he pointed out situations that might occur at the landside and who will be involved to determine risks and assess the threats and implement their countermeasures.

The meeting was attended by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines - General Santos and Cotabato Station, Office for Transportation Security, Tactical Operational Group 12 of Philippine Air Force, Special Mission Aviation Company of Philippine Army, Philippine National Police - Aviation Security Group, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air and Bangsamoro Airport Authority.

Cotabato (Awang) Airport Manager-I Johari L. Musa thanked all the participants who attended the meeting and assured them that all involved will work together for the betterment of the airport operations.
