BAA HOLDS SEMINAR ON AIRPORT SECURITY AWARENESS

The Ministry of Transportation and Communication-BARMM headed by Minister Dickson P. Hermoso, through Bangsamoro Airport Authority (BAA) led by Airport Manager III/Regional Head Carmencita O. Salik conducted a Seminar on Airport Security Awareness last Nov 12, 2021, held at Pagana Restaurant, Cotabato City.

In this seminar, the participants, among others were geared up with information and knowledge about various topics on Basic Airport Security and eventually will lead to greater transportation services for the growth of a safe, secure and sustainable air transport industry in the Bangsamoro Region.
The seminar began with the opening remarks delivered by BAA Airport Manager I Johari L. Musa followed by inspirational messages given by MOTC Minister Dickson P. Hermoso , MOTC Deputy Minister Abunawas L. Maslamama, Airport Manager III, and the head of BAA, Carmencita O. Salik, and Civil Aviation Area Manager, Mohammad Naga S. Rascal, DPA.

Various lectures were presented and facilitated by different reputable speakers. First, OTS Supervisor Analina G. Collado gave a lecture on Security Screening Procedure and she reminded the participants that screening procedures are intended to prevent prohibited items and other threats to transportation security from entering the sterile area of the airport.

On the other hand, Station Supervisor CAAP-CSI Michael A. Larroza gave a lecture on Aviation Security Procedure. The last topic was the Airport Security Operations and it was discussed by PLCOL. Donald A. Antonio, the Station Chief of AVSEU.
It was attended by participants from various BARMM agencies and forefront personnel of the Awang Airport. Finally, the program was completed by a remark of the newly appointed Engineer of BAA under Airport Development Division, Engr. Nasrodin B. Masakal.
