October 3, 2024- The 2024 Aviation Summit held at the Manila Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City brought together prominent figures from the aviation industry under the theme Climbing Toward Sustainable, Safe, and Smart Philippine Aviation. Attendees included Director I Ranibai D. Dilangalen, Director II Razulden A. Mangelen, Atty IV Johana P. Akmad, and Airport Manager III Carmencita O. Salik from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Their participation highlighted the critical role of the Bangsamoro Airport Authority in shaping aviation policies that address the region’s unique needs.
Meanwhile, a central theme of the summit was the importance of fostering partnerships among various stakeholders, including private sector players and ancillary industries. Industry leaders stressed aligning local aviation policies with international standards to tackle pressing challenges such as infrastructure, safety, and regulatory frameworks.
The participants called for a comprehensive overhaul of existing laws and regulations to ensure competitiveness in the Asian aviation market by 2028.
