Keeping true to its commitment to support the BARMM Government to extend assistance to victims of communities ravaged and flooded by Typhoon Paeng, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications Minister, Atty. Paisalin P. Tago, CPA, and the Office of Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, have collaborated to bring relief goods to Paeng-ravaged areas in the Bangsamoro Region.
Through Minister Tago’s initiative, Koko Pimentel quickly responded by tapping the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to allocate 3,400 relief packs which were delivered by two 10 -Wheeler Winged Van Trucks directly reaching the MOTC Office at 10:30 in the evening of November 4, 2022. This coordination is in line with Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim’s directive that BARMM Ministries should aid in reaching the affected residents and ensuring that their needs are met.
This collaborative effort aims to assist the Bangsamoro Government in producing much-needed relief and meeting the needs of the communities impacted by the aforementioned tropical storm.
Minister Tago expressed gratitude to Senator Pimentel for entrusting the distribution to the Ministry. He assured him that food packs would be distributed to communities that had been severely impacted and needed immediate assistance.
He also thanked the volunteers (MOTC employees) for their time and effort in assisting the ongoing effort, which began on November 1 when the Ministry launched initial relief operations in Sultan Kudarat.
